Privacy policy

This explains what personal information the Soma Blow Wave Bar collects through this website, why, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) in mind.

Who we are

What we collect, and why

When you send an enquiry. Your name, phone number, email address, the service you asked about and whatever you wrote. We use it to answer you and to arrange your appointment.

When you call, WhatsApp or email us. Your number or address and what you tell us, so we can book and manage your appointment. WhatsApp is run by Meta under its own privacy policy.

While you browse. We use Google Analytics to see which pages are visited, how people find the website, and which links and buttons they use, for example the WhatsApp, call and directions buttons. It uses cookies and gives us statistics, not your name. You can block it in your browser settings or with Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Spam protection. The enquiry form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not an automated program, is sending it. Cloudflare processes technical information about your browser to make that check.

Who else sees your information

Only the services needed to run this website and reply to you: our web host, Google (Analytics), Cloudflare (Turnstile, on the enquiry form) and our email provider. Each processes it under its own privacy policy. We do not sell your information, and we do not give it to anyone for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

An enquiry is kept while we are dealing with it and for a reasonable period afterwards. Appointment records are kept as long as we need them to provide our services and meet our legal obligations.

What you can ask us to do

Under POPIA you may ask us to:

  • tell you what information we hold about you;
  • correct anything that is wrong;
  • delete what we are not obliged to keep;
  • stop using it for marketing, at any time and at no cost;
  • explain who we have given it to.

Email info@somalaser.co.za and we will answer. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

Keeping it safe

The whole site is served over an encrypted connection, and access to enquiries is limited to staff who need it.

Children

We offer kiddies cuts for children under 14. Where the client is a child, we deal with a parent or guardian, and we do not knowingly collect information from a child through this website.

If this policy changes, the new version appears here. It was last updated on 19 October 2026.
